
Texas Tech Blanks Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo.- The 18th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders (16-5, 5-1) scored two runs in the first inning and seven in the third inning off of Missouri starting pitcher Justin Stine in their 13-0 victory. Brad Ralston (4-0) struck out 10 Missouri hitters and hurled the first shutout against the Tigers since April 14, 1995. Oklahoma blanked MU on that day 8-0.
Ryan Ruiz (3-for-6) and Josh Bard (3-for-6, 2 RBI) led the Texas Tech offensive attack. The Red Raiders sent 11 men to the plate in their seven-run third inning against Stine (0-2). Mizzou reliever Ryan Jamison held Texas Tech to their nine-run lead through five innings before the Red Raiders tallied two runs in the eighth inning. Jamison pitched 5 1/3 solid innings allowing just one earned run on six hits while striking out five.
The Red Raiders added two more runs in the ninth inning. Ralston allowed just four hits and walked four for Texas Tech.
Missouri (8-7, 1-5) is back in action on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. when they host Western Illinois at Simmons Field.
