Texas Tech Head Coach Spike Dykes
"It was a tough day at the office. Missouri has a good team. There were too many short drives that ended up scoring that they made off of turnovers. Rickey Hunter played hard. The turnovers hurt both teams. When you have that happen it takes all the wind out of your sails. Maybe I am crazy. I admire the team for coming back. You play big football teams and you have got to keep them from making big plays. And, you have to make the big plays. Every time we had a chance to get our head up, we faced some kind of adversity."
Texas Tech Tailback Rickey Hunter
"I had to step in tonight after Ricky (Williams) got hurt. All the focus was turned to me. I had to step it up, it's that plain and simple. Thanks to God and offensive line, I was able to make some big plays. We had a lot of guys that had to step up and they did it. We came out in the second half and did our best. But, we just couldn't get it going at times. We made some plays, but it just wasn't enough."
Texas Tech Tight End Kyle Allamon
"It is real tough when you have weather like this. You have to concentrate more. Sometimes it is hard to keep your eyes on the ball. I made some early mistakes, but I think I was able to pull it together and help us on the scoreboard. I just tried to make plays. There is a lot of disappointment on this team. But, we are strong and I think we will bounce back. We are still in very good standing.
(ON last TD) They released me in the flat and nobody took me. I was kind of surprised that they were playing us that soft. I don't know if they were expecting the run, or what. Matt (Tittle) made a great throw. And, I just fell in the end zone. At first I didn't know where I was. I turned around and I was there (end zone)"
Texas Tech quarterback Matt Tittle
(On final TD)"We had two guys running fades. That worked for us earlier in the game. We felt that was our best chance (to score) because we had some success with it earlier.
(On two-point conversion attempt) It was a sprint-out pass to the right. And, I knew (the defender) was coming at me. I saw the receiver but threw it too low."
Texas Tech Raiderback Keith Cockrum
(On fake punt) "We tried to throw it. The slot guys tried to release but they were getting held up. Fortunately, I was able to run and fortunately they missed some key tackles. It was good to make the first down. We needed it.
(On defensive effort) We played good at times. It seems like a lot of times we were stuck in our own end. (The defense) played well, even though West was getting some good runs. He is a great back."
Missouri Coach Larry Smith
"When Texas Tech moved the ball and got a touchdown, the defense came right back and made a play. The big stop made the game. We won the stinking football game because of that play (two-point conversion).
(On Corby Jones) He felt a lot more comfortable and made a lot more plays. I think he had his focus and spark back.
(On delay of kickoff) The officials very smartly made a decision and got everybody out of there. We have been there before. We told the team what we were going to do and got them ready to go back out there. In the second half I don't think we opened it up and kept it balanced enough. We didn't execute the passing game. I think this is a big win. Texas Tech is a fine football team. And, it is tough to get a road win I the Big 12. I think it was a swing game because it guaranteed us a winning season."
Missouri defensive tackle Terrell Jurineack
"We'd pick up momentum a lot when (The defense) score. Everybody steps up and is ready to go. The ball bounces right on the turn and it was right there.
(On two-point conversion) That was the biggest play of the game. We stepped up and did what we had to do."
Missouri quarterback Corby Jones
"I was feeling better in the first half. In the second half it was getting pretty hard. The hardest part (due to weather) was getting to the outside and trying to make cutbacks.
(On 6th win of season) We have a lot of work to do and we are going to get after it.
Missouri Running Back Devin West
"Our offense is back. We have a lot of things to work on still."
