Men's Golf Finishes 11th at California Tourney

The University of Missouri men's golf team finished 11th in the Stevinson Ranch Invitational, which wrapped up today with 18 holes of play at the Stevinson Ranch in Stevinson, Calif. Missouri shot team rounds of 307-297-304 for a three-round total of 908. Kansas won the tournament with a team score of 866.
Individually, Missouri was led by junior DAVID SUGGS (81-70-69=220), who finished 12th overall, with a three-round 220 total. Suggs fired a three-under par 69 in the final round, which was the best round of the day in the tournament. The 69 also equals the Chesterfield, Mo. native's low round of the 1998-99 season.
Next up for MU were freshmen JANSZEN RINGO (77-73-78=228) and MARK McBRIDE (76-77-75=228), who each tied for 39th overall. Ringo's finish represents the best finish of the spring season for the Ironton, Mo. native. McBride turned in spring bests with his 39th-place finish, 228 total score, and third-round 75.
Rounding out the Missouri competitors were freshman CORY EWERT (77-77-82=236) and senior ETHAN ROST (77-78-87=242). Ewert tied for 71st place individually, with his total of 236, while Rost finished in 84th place overall, with his 242 total.
Next up for Missouri is the Arkansas State Indian Classic, to be held April 5-6, in Jonesboro, Ark.
