Darin File Moves Up Javelin Rankings at Emporia State

Columbia, Mo. - Missouri javelin all-American Darin File posted a season best 233-3 throw at the Emporia State Twilight meet Satuday, his fifth provisional qualifying throw of the season. Throwing in his final regular season collegiate meet and also in his home state, File bested his previous season best by four and one-half feet. The senior finished second in the competition to Nebraska's Scott Warren who registered a 240-4 toss.
Missouri's Darrell Meinke and Tracey Holloman also competed Saturday using the event as a final tune-up for the upcoming Big 12 Championships this weekend in Waco, Texas. Meinke finished fifth in the disucus with a 173-8 throw and Holloman finished third in the women's javelin posting a 150-3 throw.
The Tiger team will travel to Baylor University the end of this week for the 1999 Big 12 Outdoor Championships. Competition begins Friday, May 21 at 11 am.
