COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - T.J. Soyoye, Missouri's lone inside threat, had a season-high 23 points and added nine rebounds Saturday in a 72-61 victory over Iowa.
Keyon Dooling added 19 points for Missouri (6-3), which overcame a short bench. Forward Johnnie Parker was reinstated from a two-day academic suspension on Friday but did not dress and freshman sixth-man Kareem Rush is suspended pending an NCAA investigation into possible violations before he enrolled at Missouri.
The 6-9 Soyoye, the Tigers' only starter taller than 6-5, had 15 points on 7-for-9 shooting and six rebounds as Missouri led 35-28 at the half. He was less aggressive in the second half, but finished 8-for-12 and made seven of eight free throws.
Soyoye totaled 16 points and four rebounds the previous two games, losses to Saint Louis and Indiana. His previous season high was 19 points against Western Carolina.
Missouri won despite getting outrebounded 40-29, compensating by committing only nine turnovers.
Soyoye capped an early 8-2 run with two baskets that gave Missouri a 31-21 lead with 3:58 to go in the first half. Iowa (5-5) closed to two points on an inside basket by Jacob Jaacks with 7:24 to go, but Missouri answered with the next seven.
Dooling had 12 points in the second half and also helped hold Dean Oliver, Iowa's leading scorer, to 2-for-12 shooting. Oliver, who had been averaging 14 points, was held to nine points.
Rob Griffin had 11 points and seven rebounds for Iowa, which has struggled since beating NCAA champion Connecticut in its opener. Iowa leads the series 8-4, but has lost three of four at Missouri.
Clarence Gilbert added 13 points and hit three 3-pointers for Missouri, which is 5-1 at home.
