Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri Women's soccer team received the school's first NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament bid Sunday night. The Tigers, 14-7-1 on the season, will host the Marquette Golden Eagles from Conference USA on Wednesday at Walton Stadium in Columbia at 2:30pm.
"We are really happy to receive a bid," Missouri Head Coach Bryan Bltyz said. "To make the NCAA Tournament was our team's goal from the beginning of the season, so to see our name among the chosen teams is very gratifying. But we are not satisfied with just getting in. We want to make it deep into the tournament"
Missouri enters NCAA play as winners of three of its last four matches. Only a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the No. 4-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Big 12 Tournament Championship match, has blemmished MU's record over the last four matches.
Tickets for the NCAA match in Columbia are $7 for adults, $5 for youth and may be bought in advance through the University of Missouri ticket office or at the event.
