Columbia, Mo. - At the annual women's soccer black and gold game, the Gold squad defeated their teammates on the Black squad 3-0 Wednesday at the the Audrey J. Walton Track-Soccer Field-Stadium. Seniors Liz Passanise and Erin Grimsley scored for MU and junior Nikki Thole added a goal for Gold. Seniors Jackie Adamec and Liz LaTour shared the shutout victory in goal.
The scrimmage was the first opportunity for six newcomers to the Tiger program to play with their new fieldmates, as well as the first team play since the team competed in Holland more than one week ago.
"This was a good scrimmage today," Head Coach Bryan Blitz said. "It was good for our new players to get out and play with the veterans and we got to see where we stand as a team."
The Tigers continued to prepare for their exhibition opener August 21 versus Illinois State at 11am and for their season and home opener, August 27 versus Duke at 4pm, with two-a-day practices the remainder of this week and through next week.
