Three Women's Golfers Qualify for National Amateur

Columbia, Mo. - Three golfers from the University of Missouri women's golf squad have qualified for the national women's amateur championship, to be held Aug. 9-14 at the Biltmore Forest Country Club in Asheville, N.C.

Jamie Tucker, Tobi Probst and Nisha Sadekar will represent Mizzou and Head Coach Tom Loyd at the tournament.

Tucker qualified for the championship by tying for second place at a qualifier on July 19 at Mission Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Mo. Tucker shot a 79 to finish in a three-way tie for second. The Eureka, Mo. resident recently won her second straight Missouri State Amateur Championship.

Probst qualified for the amateur championship by placing fifth at a qualifier on July 26 at Columbia Edgewater Golf Course in Portland, Ore. Probst shot a single round of 74 to place fifth, just three strokes behind winner Leila Chartrand of Canada, who shot a 71.

Sadekar earned a spot in the tournament by winning a qualifier held July 26 at Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park, Ill. Sadekar shot a 73 to win by one stroke over Jill Gomric of Belleville, Ill., who was second with a 74.
