Henke was one of the first great “big men” in Mizzou’s proud basketball tradition as a dominant scorer and rebounder. He was an all-American as a senior in 1961 and claimed all-Big Eight Conference honors in both 1960 and ’61. The Malta Bend, Missouri native scored 1,338 points in his career which stood as the MU record until broken by John Brown in 1973. He collected 725 career rebounds with a solid 9.8 rebounds-per-game average. Henke led Mizzou in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage in both 1960 and ’61.
