Truman the Tiger
Information for your request
Requests must be submitted a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the appearance using the online request form linked below.
The required online form is only a request form, and we cannot guarantee that every mascot request will be filled. Our mascot performance team is staffed entirely by student-athletes who train with our Mizzou Cheerleading team.
Priority is given to athletic and University-related requests.
Due to the large volume of requests and schedule fluctuations from our student performance team, you may not receive confirmation until ten business days prior to your event.
All events are charged by the hour. If an event is shorter than one hour, the one hour fee will still apply. Two hours is the maximum time for an appearance.
For the safety of our performance team, Truman cannot be in the suit without a break for more than an hour. If the request exceeds an hour, Truman will need to take several breaks to ensure his safety. There must be a secure and private space for him to take these breaks.
Mascot suits are not available for rent.
Whether the request originates from Mizzou, 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, or the general public – all appearances require a fee. Appearances more than 10 miles round-trip from UC’s main campus also require a mileage charge (a set fee).
Requester must provide a private location for the mascot to change and provide a secure, safe place to store any personal belongings and mascot storage bags (not a public bathroom, closet, public space, etc.). As stated earlier, if the request exceeds an hour, there must be a secure and private space for him to take breaks.
Requester must provide drinking water for the mascot during appearances.
Requester must provide a parking spot close to the event site for the mascot to park if the event is off campus.
COST FOR BOOKING - TRUMAN THE TIGER
UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI EVENTS $100/PER HOUR A rate of $100 is available for appearances requested by departments or organizations within the University of Missouri-Columbia system such as colleges, departments, and student organizations. Payment is accepted via MoCode fund transfer.
501(c)(3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS $100/PER HOUR A rate of $100 is available for non-profit organizations that hold a 501(c)(3) designation from the U.S. Department of Treasury through the Internal Revenue Service.
PUBLIC EVENTS $200/PER HOUR The rate is $200 for appearances requested by the public such as corporate events, parades, festivals, birthday parties, grand openings etc. If the party making the request does not qualify as a University of Missouri or 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, this is the rate for any mascot appearance.
WEDDINGS $400/PER HOUR +$100 FOR EVERY ADDITIONAL HOUR The rate is $400 for appearances to weddings, and an additional $100 charge for any additional hour.
Payment
You will receive an email with confirmation and the link to make the payment for your event. We reserve the right to cancel the request. If you pay and then we must cancel the appearance at the last minute, you will receive a full refund. For internal requests, University of Missouri internal departmental fund transfer is available for entities that qualify for the University of Missouri rate. Please provide all necessary internal account information when prompted. If you do not provide the account information, you will not receive the on-campus rate.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations are rare and the mascot team will do everything in their power to complete approved appearance requests. But, with a performance team made up entirely of student-athlete volunteers, situations including illness, class conflicts, personal emergency, etc. may occur. We reserve the right to cancel any mascot appearance up to an hour before the event. In the event that we cancel an appearance on our end, you will receive a full refund.
TIMELINE
- At least two weeks prior to your event, request a Truman the Tiger using the online form below.
- You will receive email confirmation that your request has been received.
- At least ten business days before your event, our Mascot Coordinator will contact you to provide an update regarding your request.
- Confirmation
- If the mascot is available to make your appearance, you will receive an email confirmation from the Mascot Coordinator. We will process payment, confirm the details for your appearance, and give you the name and contact information for the student who will making the appearance at your event.
- If the mascot is not able to make an appearance at your event, you will be notified via email. We do our best to fill all requests, but please keep in mind that appearances are staffed by students.
