The Mizzou Athletics Training Complex (MATC) is the daily home to Tiger student-athletes and gives Mizzou one of the top comprehensive training facilities in the nation. Opened in July of 2008 at a cost of $16 million, the facility registers at over 101,000 square feet of total space, almost doubling the old total of 66,000 square feet in the previous facility.
The MATC complex is a complete "one-stop shopping" spot for Mizzou student-athletes and gives them the best of what they need to succeed in all aspects of their athletic and academic endeavors
Onofrio Team Room
Mizzou Athletics benefits from a state-of-the-art team meeting facility known as the Onofrio Team Room. The room is named after former Tiger Football coaching great Al Onofrio, and the room comfortably seats over 150 people.
The room has video, DVD and computer presentation capabilities, and features surround sound
Athletic Performance
Strength and conditioning is a year-round emphasis for the Missouri Tigers, and thanks to a recent expansion of the Yeckel Training Center, Mizzou has one of the best workout and training facilities in the nation.
The Yeckel Training Center is located in the heart of the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex. The Yeckel Training Center boasts 13,000+ square feet of workout space with all of the latest equipment available to help the Tigers train year-round. The center has a Sports Nutrition Oasis which provides athletes with NCAA-compliant pre- and post-workout nutrition and hydration.
A state-of-the-art strength training facility is also located in Mizzou Arena, which is the primary strength and conditioning home of the men's and women's basketball teams. The facility is located just steps from both locker rooms.
The goal of the Missouri Strength and Conditioning program is to improve each team's athleticism, further developing strength, speed and quickness while increasing their agility and explosiveness. The Missouri Strength and Conditioning program educates all of Tiger teams on nutrition and strive to improve their endurance and mental toughness.
Sells Family Dining Hall
The Sells Family Dining Hall expanded in 2008 to over 9,200 square feet of spacious accommodations (almost three times the previous amount of space prior to the expansion) that gives Mizzou student-athletes the best dining facilities around. In the Sells facility, there is room for specialized cooking stations, such as pizza, omelets, stir-fry, etc., in addition to many more exciting features.
The dining services staff works along with the Missouri strength and conditioning coaches along with dietitians in developing menus that maintain a good nutritional value. They plan meals that are low in fat and high in protein to meet the demanding physical needs of Tiger student-athletes.
On a typical night the dining hall offers two entrees, two types of pasta, one starch item, two vegetables, bread, soup, a full salad bar, a deli bar, up to 10 types of fruit and a dessert. The dining hall also provides six types of juices, three kinds of Gatorade, tea and milk.
In addition, Dining Services provides meals for recruits and their families on game days and at athletic department special events and functions held in the Memorial Stadium press tower and other locations such as Mizzou Arena.
