2009-10: Using his redshirt, Greco split his 10 matches at 141 pounds last year, securing five wins by decision. He opened the year at the University of Central Missouri Open, winning his first match over McKendree's Kyle Williams by a 5-3 score. The following week, Greco took sixth place at the Missouri Open, picking up four wins on the day. He kicked off the meet with a 6-3 win, and then edged out a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma City's John Lynch. After dropping his third match, Greco bounced back to pick up wins over two Lincoln College opponents, as he defeated Jordan Cater by a 5-0 score and DaMonte Riley, 3-2.
High School: Greco finished first at the 2009 Missouri State Championships in the 130 pound weight class and wrapped up his senior campaign with a 47-4 record. Greco's top-five finish at the state tournament was his third straight after finishing fourth as a junior (2007-08) at 125 pounds and fifth as a sophomore (2006-07) in the 119 pound weight class. A member of the Blue Springs wrestling squad coached by Mike Hagarty, the Wildcats finished third at the state championships Greco's sophomore (2006-07), junior (2007-08) and senior (2008-09) seasons. Greco earned letters while wrestling for the Wildcats and was also a member of his school soccer squad. Greco graduated in 2009 with a 3.0 grade-point average.
Personal: Luke Greco is one of four children and was born Oct. 1, 1990, to parents Jay and Sandy in Blue Springs, Mo. Greco has two brothers, Jake (25) and Ryan (20), and one sister, Erica (23), who played soccer at William Jewell. Undecided on his major, Greco plans to pursue a career in law enforcement after graduation.
