Moore is one of 45 candidates on the watch list
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou redshirt senior wide receiver J'Mon Moore (Missouri City, Texas) has been named to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, as announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., on Tuesday.
The Biletnikoff is presented annually to the most outstanding receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position who catches a pass is eligible for the award. The winner is selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee. The award recipient will be announced live on Dec. 7 at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
Moore is one of 45 candidates selected for the Watch List. The redshirt senior wideout was named Preseason Second Team All-SEC after an impressive junior season.
Moore became just the eighth Mizzou player with more than 1,000 receiving yards in a single season after racking up a career-best 1,012 yards on 62 catches. The 1,012 yards rank seventh in a single season in program history and led the SEC in 2016. Moore hauled in eight touchdown receptions and posted 84.3 receiving yards per game, which ranked second in the SEC a season ago. If Moore surpasses 1,000 receiving yards during his final campaign, he would be only the second Tiger ever to have a pair of 1,000-yard seasons, joining Mizzou legend Jeremy Maclin.
Moore is the fourth Mizzou standout to have been named to a preseason watch list heading into fall camp. Senior defensive end Marcell Frazier earned spots on the Bednarik and Nagurski lists, sophomore running back Damarea Crockett is on the Maxwell Award list and junior Corey Fatony is a Ray Guy Award and Wuerffel Trophy candidate.
Mizzou opens the 2017 campaign at home vs. Missouri State on Sept. 2. Game time and a television designation have yet to be determined.
