
Morgan Porter Posts Second-Best All-Around Score in @MizzouGym History against Arkansas

Freshman Morgan Porter scored a 39.675 in the all-around to tie the second-highest total in program history
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Freshman Morgan Porter (Overland, Mo.) won four titles and tied the second-highest all-around total in program history in No. 14 Mizzou's 196.200-196.050 loss to No. 9 Arkansas in the home finale Friday night at the Hearnes Center. Porter tallied a 39.675 in the all-around after individual event scores of 9.950 (beam and floor), 9.925 (bars) and 9.850 (vault) to come up only half-a-tenth away from former Tiger All-American Sarah Shire's program record of 39.725.
The Tigers also scored over 196 for the fifth time this season, the most since the program accomplished the feat in 2010.
Porter claimed the all-around, bars, beam and floor titles as she set or tied career-highs in all four categories. Her beam score of 9.950 also tied for the fourth-best tally on the event in program history. Freshman Britney Ward (Ozark, Mo.) rounded out the event winners as she took top honors on vault with a 9.900. Additionally, Shauna Miller (Knoxville, Tenn.) scored a season-high 39.250 in the all-around.
Mizzou opened the meet with a 49.175 on vault, the team's second-best total on the apparatus all season. Ward led the way with her 9.900, while Porter tied for third with a 9.850. Sophomore Kennedi Harris (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied a 9.825 and freshman Madeleine Huber (St. Louis, Mo.) and Miller each went 9.800.
A 9.925 on bars from Porter paced the Tigers to a 48.400 on bars in the second rotation. Miller placed second on the event after a score of 9.875, a season-best for the sophomore, while sophomore Tia Allbritten (Garland, Texas) notched a career-high 9.750.
Mizzou went 49.100 as a team on beam, the third-consecutive 49 or higher score on the event for the Tigers. Porter easily claimed the beam title with her 9.950, which was the highest score on the event by a Tiger since 2010. Ward took second on the apparatus with a 9.850 and Miller tallied a 9.800.
Porter concluded her night with her third 9.950 floor score of the season as Mizzou went 49.375 in the final rotation. Harris earned a 9.900 in the anchor spot, her fifth 9.900 or higher on the year on the exercise to tie for second on the event. Additionally, freshman Allison Bower (Mesa, Ariz.) tallied a 9.875, junior Angie Kern tied her season-best with a 9.850 and Huber scored a career-high 9.800 for the Tigers.
Mizzou closes its regular season schedule on Friday, March 11 as the team travels to Kalamazoo, Mich., to face Western Michigan at 6 p.m. CT.
