
#29 Missouri Finishes Second at Oklahoma Invitational

Norman, Okla. - Seeing their finest road performance of the season, the #29 Mizzou Tigers scored a 193.625 to finish second at the Oklahoma Invitational. #9 Oklahoma won the event scoring a 196.500, while Centenary finished third (102.075) and Texas Woman's finished fourth (191.350).
The Tigers opened the meet scoring their second-highest road scores of the season on both bars and beam. Mizzou rallied to a 47.975 uneven bar performance and scored a 48.225 on beam. Moving to floor, the Tigers scored their third-highest floor score of the year tallying a 48.725. Rounding out the meet on vault, Mizzou saw its highest mark of the competition delivering a 49.000 performance to tie its season high.
Tiger beam specialist Lauren Schwartzman turned in another top caliber performance scoring a 9.875 to tie for second on the apparatus. Keeping the standard on floor and vault, the junior scored a 9.825 and 9.850, respectively.
Alisha Robinson returned to the all-around lineup scoring a 38.575. Leading the Tigers on two events, she scored a 9.900 to finish second on vault and scored a 9.875 to finish third on floor. The senior also finished second on the team on bars scoring a 9.650.
Joining Robinson in the all-around circuit, freshman Ashley Khederian scored a 38.775. Opening the meet, she scored a 9.500 on bars and a 9.575 on beam. Breaking into the floor exercise, she scored a 9.825 tying her second highest career total. Setting a new standard, she finished the meet scoring a career high 9.875 on vault to finish third on the event.
After a shaky start on bars, newcomer Julie Abaray got back on track scoring a 9.775 beam routine - tying her second highest career score. Finishing up on floor, she added a 9.700 to help the Tiger cause.
Seeing solid performances from sophomore Whitney Crater, the two event specialist scored a 9.500 on floor and a 9.550 on vault.
Fellow dual event competitor Sarah Zigler bolstered the Tigers with two solid performances. She put up a 9.575 bar routine and junior finished up the meet in grand fashion scoring a career high 9.825 on vault.
Helping boost the Tiger total, junior Jodie Heinicka led the Tigers on bars scoring a 9.675 while sophomore Amanda Pezzullo added depth to the Tiger lineup on beam scoring a 9.675.
The Tigers return to the Hearnes Center next week to host the 2005 Mizzou Cat Classic Feb. 25-26. Illinois State, New Hampshire and Towson join Mizzou in the two-day event featuring both a team and individual championship final. Competition begins at 7:00 p.m., both Friday and Saturday nights.
