The University of Missouri women's cross country team returns to action on Monday when they run at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Tigers will make their first appearance at the championships in two years, four of the seven current Mizzou harriers were on the last team to make it to championships. Missouri head cross country coach Jared Wilmes said, "The team has come together and there was a hunger to get back to the NCAA's after missing out last year. There is an expectation that we are going to be there every year and the upperclassmen brought that attitude to the table this year."
The Tigers, ranked 16th in the country feel they can do well at the championships by defeating top teams such as 4th ranked Wake Forest, "There is the belief within our team that we can do well and can compete at this level. We have to do our very best but we are peaking at the right time", said Wilmes. The team will run their 6K at noon at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.
