A native of Naples, Florida, Babb joined the softball program as a walk-on and ended her career as one of the most prolific players ever to don a Tiger jersey. She was an all-American as a senior when she helped lead MU to Big 12 Conference regular-season and post-season championships. She hit the game-winning home runs in both the tournament semifinal (vs. Oklahoma) and in the championship game (vs. Oklahoma State). Babb was also named 1997 all-Midwest Region and played on three MU squads that went to NCAA Regional competition (1994-1996-1997). The 1994 team reached the College World Series, where MU placed 7th. Babb was all-Big Eight in 1994 and 1995 and all-Big 12 in 1997. She earned Big Eight Freshman-of-the-Year honors in 1994 after leading the team in batting average at .330. She left Mizzou holding seven career records including hits (262), at bats (762), doubles (51), home runs (26), runs scored (164), runs batted in (199) and slugging percentage (.571), and ranked in top-three in nine single-season categories.
