A Liberty, Missouri product, Biggs was a standout 800-meter runner for the Tigers in the early 1980s. She won all-America honors twice, once as a member of Mizzou’s distance medley relay team that finished third at the 1982 AIAW National Indoor Championship, and once individually after finishing fifth in the 800-meters at the 1984 NCAA Indoor Championships. She won the Big Eight Conference indoor title in the 800-meters in 1983. After her collegiate career, Biggs turned her attention to distance running and became a regular fixture at Kansas City-area 10k events, then ran in the Austin and Boston Marathons. In 2005, she finished second in her age group at the Lake Placid Ironman competition, and in 2017 placed second in her age group at the Dirty Kansa, a 200-mile gravel bicycle race.
