Cross Country: Placed fifth for the Tigers, and 11th overall, in his first collegiate race at the Missouri Cross Country Challenge running 27:35.5...Had his best performance of the year at the Roy Griak Invitational with an 8K personal-record time of 25:43.70, he was the 4th across the line for the Tigers...Ran at the Big 12 Championships, coming across the line in 25:57.10...At the NCAA Midwest Regional he placed 60th overall, running the 10K course in 32:48.80 to come in fifth for the Tigers.
Indoor Track: Competed unattached to run a personal best of 14:58.21 in the 5,000m at the Cyclone Classic.
Outdoor Track:Competed unattached to run a personal best of 31:29.69 in the 10,000m at the Kansas Relays.

Phil ran for Christian Brothers College High School under coach Bernie Sill...He was a three-time 4A All-State performer, earning top-10 MSHSAA Cross Country Championship finishes in 2006 (10th) and 2007 (6th)...Phil was a Footlocker Midwest Cross Country Championships qualifier in 2006, where he placed 86th...Was a member of the 4th place 4A Cross Country Championship team in 2006...He was also All-State on the track for the 3200m in 2007 with a fifth-place showing...High School bests are 4:28 for the 1600m, 2:01 in 800m, 9:18 in 3200m, and 15:49 for the 5K in Cross Country
