2014 OUTLOOK
Big cornerback talent with good athleticism who will look to compete for playing time at a position where Mizzou lost both starters from a year ago ... Had hoped to gain a lot of experience a year ago, but had his season cut short due to a knee injury ... He'll be available in a limited fashion during the spring, but should be fully cleared in time for fall camp.

2013 SEASON
Reached the field for only one game, but made an impact with two tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass breakup against Murray State (Aug. 31) ... sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a leg injury during practice.

2012 SEASON
Saw the field for three games of action as a redshirt freshman, and made two tackles total ... had single tackles in outings against SE Louisiana and later at Tennessee as he helped contribute to Mizzou's thrilling four-overtime win in Knoxville ... also earned playing time against Kentucky.

2011 SEASON

HIGH SCHOOL
A late addition to the 2011 signing class who brought great size and athleticism to the Tiger program ... earned 2nd-Team All-State honors as a senior in 2010, when he tallied 85 tackles, four interceptions and 12 pass break ups, helping his school reach the third round of the state playoffs - the deepest run into the playoffs for the school in a long time ... also added five tackles for loss and three forced fumbles during his senior season, and was named the team's defensive back of the year ... team reached the state playoffs during his junior season, as well ... originally hails from Galveston, Texas, but was displaced in the fall of 2008 due to Hurricane Ike, and moved to the Bryan-College Station area to live with his sister, who was a teacher there at the time ... high school coach - Jim Slaughter.

PERSONAL
Mother - Alfred Payton & Rosalyn Payton ... lists hobbies as playing video games, watching television and playing basketball ... voted by his classmates as the funniest person in school ... chose Mizzou over TCU and Texas A&M, among others.
