2005: As a sophomore, White hit her first career triple on March 19 against UMKC at the Tiger Invitational in Columbia, Mo. White played in 36 games, starting 20, while making 50 appearances at the plate. Against sixth-ranked Alabama in the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Feb. 19, White had three hits, scoring her first run of the game on Sarah Stringer's second inning two-out double. On March 9, White powered her first of two doubles on the season against Ball State, crushing the second one to deep left field on April 27 against North Dakota State at home. White's 20th start of the season came against seventh-ranked Baylor at the Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla., where she was 1-for-1 with an infield hit against the Bears.
2004: At the conclusion of her freshman campaign, White led the team along with Leanne Bowers and Samantha Fleeman for most home runs on the season (four). Starting as designated player for Missouri in 22 games, White hit her first home run March 10 against Arizona State, with her second long ball coming March 21 against Oregon. Her third and fourth home runs were recorded in each of the Tigers' games against Iowa State on April 28 in the Ames, Iowa doubleheader. White crushed a home run to center field and scored a leadoff home run in the second inning of game two. In her first collegiate at-bat, White hit a double on Feb. 6 against UTC at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. White had 17 RBI on the season, the fourth highest on the team. Taking on then-No. 1 Arizona in Tucson March 14, White drove in Joanne Loethen with a single, bringing the Tigers within one run of the Wildcats (3-2). One week later, White had a three-RBI game against Oregon on March 21. Playing in the Tigers' opening game of the Big 12 Championships against Oklahoma State on May 13, White had her fourth two-hit game, including a double in the bottom of the seventh to start the winning rally. Competing in Los Angeles at Missouri's second consecutive NCAA Regional Tournament appearance, White ended her year with a single to left field and scored on a double by Alli Kennewell for Missouri's second of three runs.
Tallmadge High School: Coached by Don Duffy at Tallmadge High School, White was a member of the first-team suburban league her sophomore (2001) junior (2002) and senior (2003) seasons. Named second team All-Ohio as a sophomore, White was first team All-Ohio as a junior (2002) and senior (2003). With several honors to her name, White took first team Akron Beacon Journal, Cleveland Plain Dealer, and Suburban League honors as a senior. White was named 2003 Athlete of the Year at Tallmadge High School and by the Plain Dealer. She also competed in volleyball, track and gymnastics. White played for the Ohio Ice club team coached by Ron Poole.
Personal: Amanda Jo White was born April 21, 1985, in Barberton, Ohio, to parents Shannon and Elaine White. She has one sister, Megan (26). The only member of the team from Ohio, White is a occupational therapy major.
