2005: Tobyne made her first career start for Missouri at catcher, Feb. 12, against Nicholls State at the Seminole Classic. She recorded her first hit of the season Feb. 19 against Maryland at the Crimson Classic. Collecting a team-high 12 putouts in Missouri's game against Louisiana Tech on March 20 in the Tiger Invitational, Tobyne made eight starts behind the plate including her May 14 appearance against seventh-ranked Texas in the Tigers second-straight Big 12 Tournament Championship game appearance. Tobyne recorded one three-hit game (Feb. 26-Ball State) and one three-RBI game (May 14-Baylor) and was 2-for-3 against seventh-ranked Baylor in the third meeting with the Bears in the Big 12 Tournament. In their final meeting in Oklahoma City, Okla., Tobyne hit a two-run single in the eighth inning helping the Tiger's to a 10-4 victory over Baylor. Earlier in the day, Tobyne blasted a seventh inning, two-out double to left field in the Tigers' first game of the day against the Bears. Tobyne tallied 105 putouts with six assists and only one error in 30 games.
Arizona State (2004): A reserve on the 2004 Arizona State softball team, Tobyne played in five games, recording two hits in five at bats. The Sun Devils were 33-31 on the season.
Dakota Ridge High School: A member of the 5A Colorado State Championship team in 2002, and runner-up team in 2003, Tobyne was a catcher for the Dakota Ridge Eagles led by Head Coach Dave Atencio. Tobyne was named to the All-Conference team each of her four years in school, earning All-State honorable mention honors as a freshman (2000) and All-State honors as a junior (2002) and senior (2003). A dual sport athlete, Tobyne received four letters in softball and three as a member of the women's basketball team. Academically, Tobyne was on the Honor Roll and was the recipient of the Legacy of Excellence Award at Dakota Ridge. Tobyne was a member of the Arizona Outlaws club softball team.
Personal: Born April 28, 1985, in Wichita Kan., Alyson is the daughter of Dwight and Shari Tobyne. She has one brother Brett, (25) and one sister Jennifer Carmichael (29). Older brother Brett was a member of the golf team at Colorado State. Tobyne is a physical therapy major.
