2009: As a freshman on the Tiger softball squad, Jaydee Young made 16 appearances and one start. In her first collegiate at bat, Young doubled down the left field line driving in Missouri's seventh and final run of the game against Saint Louis, Feb. 25, in Columbia, Mo. Young made her first career start in the Tiger lineup April 15 against Missouri S&T and was 1-for-1 with an RBI and run scored.
Raymore Peculiar: As a member of the Raymore-Peculiar softball team coached by Bruce Sharp, Young was recognized as a four-time first team all-conference and all-district player, earning awards for her work at three positions (first base, catcher and center field). During her senior year with the Panthers (2008), Young also earned all-state and all-metro awards, as well as team Most Valuable Player, Offensive Player of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year. As a senior, Young was named the Kansas City Metro Player of the Year. Young was also a member of the KC Peppers club team for two-and-a-half years, as well as earning varsity letters in basketball (one) and track (four). As a member of the track team, Young earned all-conference and all-district honors in multiple events. Young was a four-year member of the Honor Roll and Principals Honor Roll.
Personal: Jaydee Young is the daughter of David and Rhonda Young and was born Oct. 6, 1989, in Overland Park, Kan. Young's mother played softball at Pittsburg State, where her father also played football. Young has two siblings, Mitch (22) and Delaney (14).
