2010 (Missouri State): After two years playing JUCO ball, Burkhart transferred to Missouri State for her junior season, where she helped guide the Bears to a third place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference. Went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI against Sam Houston State. Opened the Missouri Breast Cancer Awareness with a 2-for-2 day against SEMO while also scoring twice and drawing a pair of walks. In game one of the doubleheader with Kansas, Burkhart picked up two doubles, plated a run and scored twice herself. Her biggest game of the year came against IUPUI on March 17, when she belted her lone home run of the season, a grand slam, while also scoring twice, drawing one walk and going 1-for-1 in stolen bases.
2008-09 (Crowder College): Batting leadoff, Burkhart hit .392 in her first season at Crowder College, racking up nine doubles, four triples and six home runs en route to earning NJCAA First Team All-Region honors.
Neosho: Playing for head coach Beth Alms of the Neosho Wildcats, Burkhart was a three-time All-District and All-Southwest Conference honoree. She also helped guide her team to three district titles.
Personal: Alaina Burkhart is the daughter of Roger and Marti Burkhart, and was born on Jan. 28, 1989 in Neosho, Mo. She has two older sisters, Christi (30) and Tana (24). Burkhart is majoring in general studies and wants to teach and coach after graduation.
