Mizzou records 19 Top-Five Finishes, Three Event Wins at Oxford meet
OXFORD, Miss. – Mizzou Track & Field headed south for the Ole Miss Classic on Saturday, where the Tigers recorded 19 top-five finishes, including 13 in field events, and two top-10 program marks. Sophomore Allie Webb (Platte City, Mo.) and redshirt sophomore Samantha Farmer (Columbia, Mo.) each produced program top-10 marks at the meet, as Webb improved her javelin personal record mark which ranks eighth all-time, while Farmer's time in the 3000m steeplechase was good enough to rank 10th.
NOTABLE TIGERS
Webb notched a third-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 44.11m (144-9), improving on her previous personal best of 43.62m (143-1), which she set at the CMU Open (March 17). The mark is just two inches short of passing Sandra Hampton's 2013 mark of 44.18m (144-11) to rank seventh. In the steeplechase, Farmer shaved six seconds off her personal record to post a time of 11:05.26 to finish third, as she surpasses Carolyn Rauen's 2006 mark of 11:05.46 to join Mizzou's top-10.
Three Tigers recorded event wins on the day, as redshirt senior Jerrad Mason (Bridgetown, Barbados) won the 400m dash, junior Maya Cody (St. Louis, Mo.) and junior Karissa Roman (Kewanee, Ill.) won the high jump. Mason and Roman recorded personal records in their wins, as Mason crossed the finish line at 47.48 and Roman matched her personal best jump at 1.75m (5-8.75), while Cody crossed the finish line first at 11.76.
Other notable finishes included redshirt junior Gabi Jacobs (Bloomington, Ill.), who posted a season-best mark in the shot put with a mark of 15.26m (50-0.75), freshman Chris Conrad (O'Fallon, Ill.) who finished second in the 800m run at 1:50.63, and redshirt freshman Karina Liz (Aurora, Ill.) who finished third in the women's 800m run at 2:11.11.

"Solid weekend for both teams," said Haltler. "Terrific debut for Karissa in the 10k, lots of personal best, but, most importantly a great weekend of work. We'll head home and put in a couple solid weeks of training and look forward to lining up at Arkansas."
