Tigers now officially open their 2018 season with Friday doubleheader
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball's originally scheduled 2018 season opener at the Kajikawa Classic Thursday has been cancelled. Due to ongoing travel issues for the Tigers in St. Louis, Mizzou interim head coach Gina Fogue and San Jose State head coach Peter Turner have mutually agreed to nix tonight's game.
There are no plans at this time to reschedule Thursday evening's originally scheduled matchup. Mizzou's 2018 season opener is now slated for Friday afternoon in Tempe, Ariz. The Tigers will face UTEP at 12:30 p.m. CT, followed by an 8:45 p.m. CT first pitch later in the day against CSUN.
Mizzou closes its season-opening weekend with a doubleheader Saturday against No. 3 Oregon and No. 21 Oklahoma State and a single-game matchup versus Oregon State on Sunday.
