@MizzouVB Excels Yet Again Over Fall 2017 Academic Semester

Tigers finished recent semester with 3.53 team GPA
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball continued its strong track record of academic excellence during the recent Fall 2017 semester, posting a 3.53 cumulative grade point average. The Tigers' impressive performance in the classroom marked their sixth consecutive semester (Fall, Spring and Summer) of surpassing a collective 3.50 GPA.
From Aug. 2017 - Dec. 2017, an outstanding 10 Tigers tallied a 3.00 GPA or higher, including seven individuals exceeding a 3.75 GPA and four student-athletes recording a perfect effort in the classroom this past semester with a 4.00 GPA.
"I'm very proud of our student-athletes," Mizzou Volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "To be able to achieve this kind of success in the classroom, while at the same time achieving such great things on the court speaks highly of their drive and commitment to excellence in all areas. They're competitive people and I'm proud that they compete in the classroom as well as on the court!"

Since 2004, Mizzou has continually recorded strong performances in the opening semester of its respective academic calendar year. In fact, the Tigers have totaled 11 Fall semesters with a 3.00 or higher GPA, including seven consecutive efforts in the classroom (2011-present).
Mizzou's successful start to the 2017-18 academic year is no surprise, as it also shined throughout the 2016-17 semesters. Last year, the Tigers earned their fourth consecutive American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. Overall, Mizzou produced a 3.50 GPA over the Spring 2017 semester and a 3.55 GPA over the Fall 2016 semester.
Historically, the Tigers have enjoyed superior academic success over the past 10-plus years. Since 2004, Mizzou has exceeded a 3.00 cumulative GPA in 23 of 27 combined Fall and Spring semesters.
