Tigers kick off season Feb. 8 at Kajikawa Classic
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball has officially unveiled its 2018 schedule, announced Friday (Jan. 5) by head coach Ehren Earleywine. The Tigers will play 57 total regular season games, consisting of 33 non-conference matchups and 24 Southeastern Conference contests. Following its regular season finale, Mizzou will host the SEC Tournament (May 8-12) inside Mizzou Softball Stadium for the first time in program history.
All dates and times are subject to change. Further details on TV and radio coverage for select games this upcoming season will be announced at a later date.
Mizzou opens its 2018 schedule with four consecutive non-conference tournaments. The Tigers' opening stretch will occur in Tempe, Ariz., for the Kajikawa Classic (Feb. 8-11). Mizzou then travels to Clearwater, Fla., for the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Invitational (Feb. 16-18) and Cathedral City, Calif., for the annual Mary Nutter Classic (Feb. 22-25) to wrap up its road tournament schedule.
Highlighting the Tigers' non-conference opponents this season are Oregon, BYU, Arizona and UCLA. Each program placed Top-25 in the final edition of last year's NFCA Division I Coaches Poll.
The Tigers' 2018 home opener will take place at the second annual Mizzou Tournament (March 2-4) inside Mizzou Softball Stadium. Following the team's first action in Columbia, Mo., Mizzou begins SEC play with a road trip to Knoxville, Tenn., the following weekend against Tennessee (March 9-11).
Coach Earleywine and the Tigers welcome Mississippi State (March 16-18) to Mid-Missouri for their home conference opening series. Mizzou's premier home SEC series schedule this year concludes with LSU (March 30 – April 1), Auburn (April 13-15) and Florida (May 4-6). All three programs ranked Top-15 in the final NFCA Division I Coaches Poll a season ago.
Along with their aforementioned visit to Tennessee, the Tigers will travel to Arkansas (March 23-25), Georgia (April 6-8) and South Carolina (April 20-22) as a part of their 2018 SEC road schedule.
Mizzou will compete in four Wednesday mid-week doubleheaders this season. The Tigers travel to Southeast Missouri State (March 21), Western Illinois (April 25) and Wichita State (May 2), while squaring off against Illinois (March 14) at a neutral site.
Mizzou Softball season ticket renewals are due by Jan. 12. The first 500 registered season ticket holders will receive a refillable $1 concession cup. Fans can use their exclusive cup throughout the entire 2018 season at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
Chair back season tickets are available for $100 apiece, while general admission tickets are available for $65 (adults) and $50 (youth and seniors). Tiger fans interested in purchasing premium Break Time Lounge season tickets are encouraged to contact the Mizzou Ticket Office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS.
