Nash is Tigers’ first Preseason All-SEC representative since 2015
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball junior OF Regan Nash (Camden Point, Mo.) was named to the 2018 Preseason All-Southeastern Conference Team, announced Wednesday (Jan. 24) by the league office.
Nash is one of 17 honorees on this year's list, as voted upon by the SEC head coaches earlier this winter. She's only one of six outfielders to garner preseason recognition. The 2018 Preseason All-SEC Team also consists of six infielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one designated player/utility.
Wednesday's honor marks Nash's first career Preseason All-SEC Team accolade. She now joins former All-American Taylor Gadbois (2015) and Tori Finucane (2015) as Tigers to receive preseason recognition by the SEC office.
Nash is poised for another big season in the Mizzou lineup following a standout 2017 sophomore campaign. The speedy Tiger outfielder hit .340 with 49 hits, 28 runs, 17 stolen bases and a .424 on-base percentage last year, en route to Second Team All-SEC honors.
The Camden Point, Mo., native also excelled in her first-year campaign two years ago, hitting .336 with 48 hits, 33 runs and 22 stolen bases. Nash received 2016 Freshman All-SEC distinction following her productive season in Mizzou black and gold.
