COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou soccer sophomore Sarah Luebbert (Jefferson City, Mo.) earned an invite to U.S. Soccer's upcoming Under-23 Women's National Team training camp, the organization announced on Thursday. The call-up marks Luebbert's third training camp appearance with the Under-23 Women's National Team since January.
A total of 24 individuals earned invites to the training camp, which runs July 21-28 in Seattle, Washington. The training camp includes a match against the Women's Premier Soccer League's Seattle Sounders on Monday, July 24 at 8 p.m. CT at Husky Soccer Stadium on the Washington campus.
The 2016 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year, Luebbert also claimed All-SEC second team and NSCAA All-South Region third team honors during her freshman season at Mizzou in 2016. She led the Tigers with 24 points on 10 goals and four assists during her freshman season. Her point and goal totals were the most for a Tiger since Kristin Andrighetto had 27 and 10 in 2009 and ranked second on both Mizzou's all-time freshman points and goals lists. She also paced the Tigers with four game-winning goals and started 18 games at the top of Mizzou's lineup.
Additionally, Luebbert finished the season ranked fifth among SEC players in goals per game (0.56) and sixth in points per game (1.33).
