Mack earns first career Academic All-American recognition
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball senior Kirsten Mack (Riverside, Calif.) was named to the 2017 CoSIDA Division I Softball Academic All-American Team, announced Thursday by the organization's office.
Mack's Second Team honors marks Mizzou Softball's 14th all-time individual and 17th overall CoSIDA Academic All-American accolade. 10 of the Tigers' 17 Academic All-Americans have occurred under head coach Ehren Earleywine's tenure (2007-present).
The Riverside, Calif., native accomplished outstanding academic success over her four-year career in Mizzou black and gold. Mack garnered three consecutive Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll recognitions (2014-16) and was also named 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-District earlier this month.
Mack is a Health Science major at the University of Missouri and tallied an impressive 3.90 GPA over her academic career in Columbia, Mo. Additionally, she's a University of Missouri School of Health Professions Student Ambassador, member of Mizzou Athletics' Student-Athlete Leadership Team and was recently accepted into Mizzou's Physical Therapy Doctorate Program.
The 2017 CoSIDA Division I Softball Academic All-American Team consists of 33 total student-athletes. 11 individuals were each selected to this year's First Team, Second Team and Third Team lineups.
