Doors open at 6 p.m.
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Women's Basketball will hold its annual postseason banquet on Tuesday, April 18 at Mizzou Arena. Doors will open at 6 p.m. The event is open to the public and costs $15 per person.
Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Parking is available in Lot P and expected attire is business casual. To RSVP for the banquet, contact Toni Hayes at 573-882-1002 or hayest@missouri.edu.
The Tigers will celebrate its third 22-win season since 1985. Mizzou clinched back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1985-86 and won games in back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in program history.
Mizzou finished third in the Southeastern Conference, its highest SEC finish ever and its highest conference finish since 1990. The Tigers' 11 SEC wins set a new program record. Mizzou also set a new SEC record in 2016-17 for single season team free throw percentage as the Tigers shot 80.2 percent from the line during the campaign.
Head coach Robin Pingeton was named SEC Coach of the Year by both the league's coaches and the Associated Press, becoming just the second coach in program history to earn the honor. Sophomore Sophie Cunningham was named First Team All-SEC and an AP All-America Honorable Mention. Freshman Amber Smith also earned SEC Co-Freshman of the Year honors and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
