Meek will compete Sept. 14-17 in Mexico
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golf senior Jessica Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) is set to compete at the 2016 World Amateur Team Championships in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Meek will represent Team Scotland at this year's event from Sept. 14-17.
Scotland and 26 other countries across the world will compete for the 27th Espirito Santo Trophy at this year's World Amateur Team Championships.
Meek is entering her final year with the Tigers and produced an outstanding 2015-16 junior campaign. Her 74.17 individual season stroke average ranks fourth all-time in program history.
Meek opened last year's fall schedule in style, claiming the 2015 Johnie Imes Invitational individual championship. Her 201 (67-67-67) total score at Old Hawthorne set a new all-time individual low 54-hole total in Mizzou Women's Golf history. Additionally, Meek's win at the Johnie Imes Invitational marked the Tigers' first individual tournament win since 2010.
Collectively, the Tigers enter the 2016-17 season with high expectations. A season ago, Mizzou's 291.9 team stroke average was the lowest in program history.
The 2016-17 Mizzou Women's Golf season officially kicks off from Sept. 23-25 at The Lady Paladin Tournament in Greenville, S.C.
