Mizzou begins the 2016 season by hosting Central Arkansas on Friday, Aug. 19
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mizzou Soccer was tabbed to finish sixth in the Southeastern Conference Coaches' Poll, announced by the league office on Thursday, August 11. The Tigers will open their season on Friday, August 19 when they host Central Arkansas at Audrey J. Walton Stadium at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Coming in ahead of Mizzou in the preseason poll was Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn, South Carolina and LSU. The Tigers will host No. 7 Florida on Thursday, Oct. 26 to close out the regular season.
Mizzou returns an experience squad for the 2016 campaign, returning eight starters and 15 letterwinners from the 2015 team which went 9-5-5 and finished the regular season ranked second in the SEC standings. The Tigers will have both of their goalkeepers back from last year, as redshirt junior Kristen Rivers (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and sophomore Kelsey Dossey (Plainfield, Ind.) both plan to be in action for Mizzou. Senior midfielder Melanie Donaldson (Florissant, Mo.), who earned second-team All-SEC honors last season, also returns for the Tigers.
