Mizzou holds final practice before Saturday's scrimmage
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Football prepared for its first intrasquad scrimmage of 2016 #MIZCamp with a helmets-only practice on Friday morning at the Kadlec Practice Fields behind the Mizzou Athletic Training Complex. Position groups worked out individually before intense 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 sessions.

Friday's 11-on-11 portion featured a seesaw battle between the offense's passing attack and the defense's vaunted secondary and relentless pass rush. Redshirt junior DB Anthony Sherrils made his presence known early with pair of pass breakups and a big hit that blew up a screen pass. Freshman WR Dimetrios Mason answered back by hauling in a 25-yard reception and WR Jonathan Johnson followed with a long gain of his own after RB Nate Strong's timely blitz pickup led to a 20-yard completion.
#DLineZOU got in to the action a few plays later as redshirt junior Marcell Frazier swatted down a pass at the line on a key third down and freshman Tre Williams added a big sack on the next possession for the defense. Sophomore QB Drew Lock made the final statement of the practice though, ending 7-on-7 with a beautiful precision pass that resulted in a 60-yard touchdown to WR Nate Brown.
The Tigers now to turn to their first scrimmage of fall camp Saturday morning at Faurot Field.
