
Meek, Young of @MUWomensGolf Advance to Match Play at Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship

Tigers upperclassmen building on strong year in summer action
WEST KILBRIDE, U.K. – Senior Jessica Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) had a strong showing at the Scottish Women's Amateur Championship June 1-4 at the West Kilbride Golf Club. Meek won the qualifying round by shooting a 6-under par 67 in the second round. She was in first place at 9-under after the two qualifying rounds.
After advancing to match play, Meek earned two victories before falling in the quarterfinals. She notched a 2&1 win in the first round and followed that up with a 5&3 defeat in round two.
Junior Clara Young (North Berwick, Scotland) – the event's defending champion – also advanced to match play before falling in the first round.
The week before, Meek tied for fifth by shooting 9-under par in the Saint Rule Trophy Event at the St. Andrews Old Course.
