COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball will begin its 18-match 2016 Southeastern Conference schedule at the Hearnes Center against South Carolina (Sept. 21), as announced Monday by head coach Wayne Kreklow. The Tigers are set for nine away SEC matchups and nine home SEC contests this upcoming season.
Before its SEC portion of the 2016 schedule, Mizzou will complete its non-conference tournaments at the Idaho State Invitational (Sept. 9-10) and Delaware Invitational (Sept. 16-17). In Pocatello, Idaho, the Tigers will be joined by Boise State, BYU and Idaho State. Mizzou's tournament finale in Newark, Del., will bring matchups against Delaware, Duquesne and Miami (Fla.).
The Tigers' opening pair of SEC matches are set for the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo. Following its match against the Gamecocks, Mizzou welcomes Ole Miss (Sept. 25) to Mid-Missouri. Up next, the Tigers travel for the first of two three-match road trips this season. Mizzou will meet Arkansas (Sept. 30), LSU (Oct. 2) and Auburn (Oct. 7) for its first conference road tests.
The Tigers conclude the weekend back at the Hearnes Center (Oct. 9) for their second matchup in many days versus Arkansas. Mizzou will have a rare full week off and not compete again until the following Sunday (Oct. 16) at Alabama. Up next, Coach Kreklow brings the Tigers home for a mid-week matchup (Oct. 19) versus LSU and Sunday contest (Oct. 23) against Kentucky.
Mizzou concludes the month of October with a road trip to Texas A&M (Oct. 26) and another Sunday afternoon contest at the Hearnes Center against Mississippi State (Oct. 30). The Tigers open November with their final three-match road trip of the season. Mizzou will make the trek east with matches versus Tennessee (Nov. 4), Kentucky (Nov. 6) and South Carolina (Nov. 13).
Three of the final four regular season contests will take place at the Hearnes Center. Mizzou welcomes Auburn (Nov. 18) and Florida (Nov. 20) to Mid-Missouri before its final road trip of the season to Georgia (Nov. 23). Tennessee makes its way to the Hearnes Center for the Tigers' regular season and home finale (Nov. 26).
