@MizzouSwimDive Sends 29 To Compete at U.S. Olympic Trials

A total of 29 current, former and future Tigers will compete at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials this week

OMAHA, Neb. - After recording the best finishes in program history at the 2016 NCAA Championships, 29 current, former and incoming members of Mizzou's men's and women's swimming teams will compete at the 2016 United States Olympic Trials, June 26-July 3, at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Preliminary action gets underway at 10 a.m. CT each day, with semifinal or final action at 6:45 p.m. CT., televised live on NBC.

Mizzou's representatives, which include 20 men and nine women, will compete in 21 different events spanning a full seven days of competition. The top two finishers in each event will qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janerio in August.

Three different Tigers enter the Trials ranked in the top 10 in their respective events, while another comes in at 11th. Former Tiger Sam Tierney is seeded fifth in the 100 breast and 10th in the 200 breast, senior Michael Chadwick is sixth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free, junior Hannah Stevens is seventh in the 100 back and senior Carter Griffin enters ranked 11th in the 200 back.
