Jin recalls learning Chinese calligraphy
COLUMBIA, Mo. – In late May, Mizzou Volleyball made its long trek to Beijing, China, for an unforgettable 13-day trip. While overseas, the Tigers competed against top Chinese competition during the week and visited historic landmarks on the weekends.
Throughout the offseason, MUTigers.com will meet with each of the Tiger players who made the memorable trip. Each individual will focus on one part of the team's trip and recall what that moment meant to them.
Up first is sophomore Hao Jin and her recollection of learning Chinese calligraphy. The following description was written by Jin.

On Wednesday, May 18, we visited a Chinese Elementary School. During the visit, we experienced Chinese calligraphy. Since I am Chinese myself (Shijiazhuang, China, native), I already learned a little bit of calligraphy when I was young. Chinese calligraphy is a traditional Chinese art.
Five famous calligraphy fonts are Zhuan, Li, Cao, Xing and Kai. Below is an example of different Chinese Calligraphy fonts with the word "green".

The Chinese calligraphy process starts with a brush. It's then dipped in ink and you finally write the words on handmade paper. At the end of the session, our instructor wrote "Tiger" for all of us!
