
Mizzou's Lowary Ready For USA Softball Women's Elite Team

Sophomore LHP continues work with Team USA this summer
OKLAHOMA CITY – Following a successful sophomore campaign with Mizzou Softball, LHP Paige Lowary (Dallas Center, Iowa) will once again work with USA Softball this upcoming summer. Lowary is one of 20 collegiate student-athletes on the 2016 USA Softball Women's Elite Team.
The USA Softball Women's Elite Team and Women's National Team will begin training camp on Monday, June 13, at the ASA Hall of Fame Complex. Lowary and the Elite Team will participate in a series of exhibition games against the USA Softball Women's National Team in addition to the World Cup of Softball XI (July 5-10).
The USA Softball Elite Team is also slated for exhibition games at the USA Softball JO Cup in Marietta, Ga., later this summer (July 22-28).
This past winter, Lowary participated in the 2016 USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Camp in Irvine, Calif. Last summer, the Dallas Center, Iowa, native was one of 20 student-athletes selected to the 2015 USA Softball Junior Women's National Team (JWNT).
Lowary was outstanding again in 2016 with the Tigers, compiling a 25-8 record with a 3.25 ERA in 198.0 innings pitched. The lefty hurler reset new single-season career highs in ERA (3.25), wins (25), appearances (44), games started (31), complete games (16), shutouts (4) and innings pitched (198.0).
Among SEC pitchers, Lowary's 151 strikeouts ranked 10th-most in the conference. Additionally, her 25 victories ranked T-2nd, 198.0 innings pitched ranked 5th, 44 appearances ranked 6th and 31 games started ranked 6th. In SEC only play, Lowary's 10 wins ranked 3rd, 91.2 innings pitched ranked 4th and 61 strikeouts ranked 7th.
