Junior from Troon, Scotland, has been one of Mizzou’s best on and off the course
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Junior Euan Walker (Troon, Scotland) continues to pile up academic accolades for the 2015-16 season, as he was recently named a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Walker was also selected as the Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year on May 4.
Walker has stood out for head coach Mark Leroux's group as an exemplary student-athlete, compiling a 4.0 cumulative grade point average in mathematics while appearing in Mizzou's lineup for the entire 2015-16 season. Walker was consistent throughout his junior campaign, with his 73.4 stroke average ranking second-best on the squad. He was the Tigers' first or second-best finisher in six of Mizzou's 10 events during the 2015-16 campaign.
Only First Team All-District was chosen for the recent at-large nomination process, so all honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team voting ballot, where First-, Second- and Third-Team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
