
@MizzouSwimDive Earns Sixth-Place Relay Finish During Day Two at Women's NCAAs

The Tigers sit in 14th-place with 40 points after day two action
ATLANTA – For the second-consecutive season, Mizzou earned All-America first team honors in the 400 medley relay with a sixth-place finish Thursday during day two action at the 2016 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta, Ga. Overall, the Tigers concluded the day in 14th-place with 40 points.
After a program record time of 3:30.50 in prelims, Mizzou's quartet of junior Nadine Laemmler, redshirt senior Abby Duncan, senior Anna Patterson and sophomore Hannah Stevens lowered the school mark to 3:29.70 in evening finals to place sixth. The Tigers entered the meet seeded 11th in the event.
Laemmler also clocked her own school record during the race as she swam the leadoff 100 back leg in 51.75.
Mizzou also earned All-America honorable mention honors in the 200 free relay. Patterson, Stevens, freshman Maddie Gehrke and sophomore Rachel Hayden placed 10th overall in 1:28.87 as the Tigers earned points in the event for the first time since 2012.
Individually, Patterson placed 20th in the 50 free (22.28), while junior Katharine Ross and sophomore Sharli Brady finished 21st (1:57.38) and 35th (1:58.66), respectively, in the 200 IM. Additionally, sophomore Kira Zubar swam in the 500 free and took 60th (4:48.13).
Mizzou continues action at the Championships with day three competition on Friday, with prelims at 9 a.m. CT and finals at 5 p.m. CT.
