Divers Continue Strong Performances at USA Diving Winter National Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Redshirt senior Lauren Reedy (Rochester Hills, Michigan) placed fourth on 1-meter Sunday at the 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Additionally on Monday, Reedy and three other Tigers advanced to the semifinals of the senior women's 3-meter competition.
Reedy finished 1-meter finals with a combined score of 497.90 points (249.65 in finals and 249.25 in prelims) on Sunday evening, only 16.4 points out of first. She narrowly missed qualifying for the 2017 FINA World Championships, as the top two finishers made the team on 1-meter. Reedy closed her finals round with a dive that earned 64.5 points, the highest scoring dive of the night.
On Monday morning, Reedy and fellow Tigers Kendra Kieser (Plano, Texas) and Alexa Beckwith (Denver, Colorado) all advanced to Monday evening's women's 3-meter semifinals. Reedy finished sixth in morning prelims with a score of 241.90, while Kieser sits eighth with 231.65 points and Beckwith 15th with 212.40. Prelims scores will carry over to semifinals. The top 12 divers from semifinals will advance to the 3-meter finals, scheduled for Wednesday.
