
Chadwick Named SEC Male Swimmer of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Senior Michael Chadwick of the Mizzou men's swimming and diving team was named the Southeastern Conference Male Swimmer of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. It marks the second SEC weekly honor of his career.
In a quad dual against Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois, Chadwick swept the 50 free (19.89), 100 free (43.52) and 200 free (1:37.49) races and swam on two winning Tiger relays. He has won all seven individual events he has swam so far this season, with three wins in the 100 free, two in the 50 free and one each in the 200 free and 200 IM. Overall, Chadwick ranks fifth nationally in both the 50 free (19.81) and 100 free (42.28) and 23rd in the 200 free (1:37.49).
Chadwick stands as the most decorated Tiger in program history with a total of six first team and nine honorable mention All-America honors in his career. He placed fourth in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free at the 2016 NCAA Championships, as well as taking fifth in the 100 free at the Championships in 2015. Chadwick owns Mizzou's 50 free (19.04), 100 free (41.89) and 200 free (1:33.64) school records. He is also a member of the 2016-17 USA Swimming National Team after a top-six finish in the 50 free at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and recently named to the 2016 FINA World Championship (25m) Team.
The Tigers are back in action on Thursday, Nov. 10 as they host Georgia at Noon CT at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
