
@MizzouVB Makes Season Debut in AVCA Coaches Poll, Checks in at #21 Overall

Tigers make big jump following standout weekend on the road
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Volleyball made its season debut in the latest 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll, checking in at No. 21 in the country, as announced Monday by the AVCA office.
The Tigers are fresh off a perfect two-match stretch this past weekend (Oct. 31 – Nov. 6), including a dominating 3-0 sweep on Sunday at then-No. 18 Kentucky. Heading into this week's action, Mizzou and Florida sit atop the SEC standings with a 12-1 record in conference play.
Monday's recognition marks Mizzou's first appearance in the AVCA Coaches Poll since Nov. 30, 2015. Last year's Tiger squad entered NCAA Postseason play as the No. 25 ranked team in the country. Since 2013, Mizzou has cracked the AVCA Coaches Poll a total 13 times.

The Tigers (21-4, 12-1 SEC) are entering their final weeks of the 2016 regular season with only five matches remaining. Up next, Mizzou travels to South Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 13. First serve between the Tigers and Gamecocks is scheduled for 3 p.m. (CT).
Mizzou returns to the Hearnes Center the following week for a pair of key SEC matchups. First, the Tigers will host Auburn on Friday, Nov. 18. Mizzou concludes its home weekend on Sunday, Nov. 20, against No. 6 Florida. First serve in Mid-Missouri is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (CT) and 3 p.m. (CT), respectively.
