COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou men's swimming and diving team is ranked second nationally in the Nov. 23 TYR/College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I top 25 poll, the CSCAA announced Tuesday evening. The No. 2 ranking is the highest in program history, besting the No. 3 ranking the squad earned on Nov. 26, 2014.
Additionally, the women's team jumped four spots to No. 14 in this week's poll.
Both programs surged up the rankings following last weekend's Mizzou Invite. Over the course of the meet, the Tigers combined to set 10 school records and four individual NCAA automatic qualifying cuts. Two Tigers, seniors Andrew Sansoucie (Wentzville, Mo.) and Fabian Schwingenschlogl (Nuremberg, Germany) rank first nationally in their respective events, while senior Michael Chadwick (Charlotte, N.C.) ranks second in three events and third in another. In all, nine Tiger men own 16 top 10 times and six Tiger women have 10 top 10 times nationally.
The diving program is idle until Dec. 15-21 when select divers will compete at the 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championships in Columbia, Ohio, then the Tennessee Diving Invite, Jan. 1-3, in Knoxville, Tenn. The swimming programs return to the pool for a two-day dual against Louisville, Jan. 6-7, in Louisville, Ky.
