COLUMBIA, Mo. – Three members of the Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving programs were awarded weekly honors by the Southeastern Conference, the league announced on Tuesday (Oct. 18). Redshirt senior Lauren Reedy (Rochester Hills, Mich.) garnered Female Diver of the Week honors, sophomore Kyle Goodwin (Aurora, Colo.) won Male Diver of the Week accolades and senior Katharine Ross (Des Moines, Iowa) was named Female Swimmer of the Week. This marks the second straight week Mizzou swept the diving awards, as juniors Alexa Beckwith (Denver, Colo.) and Hunter Fritter (Houston, Texas) earned the honors on Oct. 11.
Reedy was honored for the fourth time of her career and Ross the second time. Goodwin earned the award for the first time.
A redshirt senior, Reedy swept both springboards and set a new Mizzou school record in Mizzou's dual win over Alabama on Oct. 14. She tallied a career-best 381.98 on 3-meter to break the program mark, bettering Missouri's old record of 376.05 set by Loren Figueroa in 2011. Reedy also took top honors on 1-meter with a score 313.95 against the Crimson Tide. Reedy now holds both Mizzou springboard records, as she set the 1-meter mark in 2015.
Ross won both breaststroke events and helped the Tigers to a relay win against over Alabama. The senior clocked a 1:01.19 to win the 100 breast and a 2:15.37 to claim top honors in the 200 breast. She also swam in Mizzou's winning 200 medley relay that touched in 1:40.92. On the year, Ross ranks fourth nationally in the 100 breast and 13th in the 200 breast.
Goodwin also swept the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards against the Crimson Tide. The sophomore tallied a career-high score of 382.43 on 3-meter to take the win, besting his old high of 374.48. He also placed first on 1-meter with a six-round tally of 329.48.
The Tigers next hit the pool Nov. 4-5 for a two-day meet against Kentucky, Northwestern and Southern Illinois in Lexington, Ky.
