COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Cross Country continues its 2016 campaign with two races this weekend, the Bradley 'Pink' Classic in Peoria, Ill., on Friday, Oct. 14, and the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, Oct. 15. The two meets will serve as the final weekend of the regular season for the Tigers, who will be represented by 17 runners in Peoria and 13 in Terre Haute.
BRADLEY 'PINK' CLASSIC – FRIDAY, OCT. 14
Mizzou has raced in the Bradley Classic four times in the last six seasons, with 2012 and 2014 being the only years the Tigers have not made the trip. The women's red 6000m race will begin the day for Mizzou at 3:30 p.m. CT, with the men's red 8000m race to follow at 4:15 p.m. CT. In the men's race, 28 teams will take the field at Newman Golf Course, while 31 teams will take the field in the women's race, including Illinois and host-school Bradley, who rank No. 7 and No. 13 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Regional Rankings, respectively.
Redshirt sophomore Zach Cook (Columbia, Mo.) and redshirt freshman Michael Widmann (Naperville, Ill.) highlight the men's field for Mizzou, who will send nine runners to the start line on Friday. Cook finished third for Mizzou and 36th overall at the Commodore Classic, setting a personal-record in the 8000m with a time of 25:39.8. Widmann improved his time in the 8000m by 39 seconds at the Chile Pepper Festival, finishing 44th overall with a time of 25:23.59, a personal-record. On the women's side, four Tigers who set personal-records at the Chile Pepper Festival will run for the Tigers, including redshirt freshman Jordyn Kleve (Urbandale, Iowa), who finished seventh for Mizzou with a time of 18:17.98.

Mizzou will send 13 runners, six men and seven women, to the start line at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course on Saturday. The women's 6000m blue race will kick off the day for Mizzou at 10 a.m. CT, followed by the men's 8000m blue race at 10:35 a.m. CT. Each race will consist of 41 teams and will be loaded with teams ranked in the USTFCCA National Coaches Poll. On the women's side, eight teams ranked in the poll's top-30 will compete, including No. 2 Colorado and No. 5 Portland, while eight top-30 teams will compete in the men's race, including No. 4 Oregon and No. 5 Arkansas. Mizzou will be joined by SEC teams Arkansas, Florida and Mississippi State in the women's race, while Arkansas, Florida and Mizzou will represent the SEC in the men's race.
Junior Karissa Schweizer (Urbandale, Iowa) leads the way for the women, coming off back-to-back meet wins at the Commodore Classic and Chile Pepper Festival. Schweizer was named SEC Runner of the Week after each victory and is currently ranked No. 17 in the FloTrack Women's Individual Cross Country Rankings. Three Tigers who finished in the top-20 at the Chile Pepper Festival, junior Jamie Kempfer (Festus, Mo.), senior Nicole Mello (Columbia, Mo.) and senior Teylar Adelsberger (O'Fallon, Mo.), will also take the field for Mizzou. Redshirt junior Ellyn Atkinson (Springfield, Mo.), redshirt junior Kaitlyn Fischer (Pevely, Mo.) and redshirt junior Valeska Halamicek (Weldon Spring, Mo.) round out the field for the women.
Redshirt senior Drew White (Crystal City, Mo.) leads an experience group of juniors and seniors for the men. White is coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Hawkeye Invitational and Chile Pepper Festival. The Tiger senior cut more than a full minute off his 8000m PR in Fayetteville, finishing the race in ninth-place with a time of 23:57.99. Senior Ollie Lockley (Colby, Isle of Man), who finished first for Mizzou at the Commodore Classic, will join redshirt junior Marc Dubrick (DeKalb, Ill.), redshirt junior Sheldon Keence (St. Charles, Mo.) and senior Luca Russo (Kent, England) in the field for the men.
