Powerful Offense Leads @MizzouSoftball To Doubleheader Sweep

Tigers score 27 runs on 39 hits over two games
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball saw its offense come alive Friday at University Field en route to consecutive wins over Lakeland Community College. Game One ended with a 16-4 triumph, followed by an 11-0 shutout victory in Game Two.
The Tigers won Game One in dominant fashion, scoring in every inning. Junior C/1B Kirsten Mack (Riverside, Calif.) led the charge, hitting her first two home runs of the fall season. Mack ended the game a flawless 4-for-4 at the plate. Over Mizzou's first four fall contests, Mack has reached base in all 11 of her at bats.
Senior IF Sami Fagan (Dunnellon, Fla.) also went deep for Mizzou, marking her third straight game with a home run. Overall, Fagan went 3-for-4 with four RBIs in Game One.
Mizzou was also impressive in the circle, as junior RHP Tori Finucane (Germantown, Md.) got the win after striking out six, bringing her total to 14 in 10.0 innings during fall action. Junior RHP Cheyenne Baxter (Norborne, Mo.) finished off Game One, allowing one earned run in 2.0 innings of work.
Senior OF/SS Taylor Gadbois (Maryville, Mo.) showed off her speed throughout the night, tallying four infield hits and three stolen bases.
In Game Two, sophomore LHP Paige Lowary (Dallas Center, Iowa) was outstanding in her 2015 fall debut. Lowary totaled 10 strikeouts in 5.0 innings while allowing only three hits. Freshmen RHP Danielle Baumgartner (Mexico, Mo.) capped off the Tigers' evening with 2.0 shutout frames and three strikeouts.
Mizzou used a six-run seventh inning in Game Two to secure consecutive double-digit run outputs. Junior 1B Chloe Rathburn (Mission Viejo, Calif.) had the highlight of the game, blasting a home run well over the left field bleachers. Rathburn finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs.

The Tigers continue their fall schedule Friday, Oct. 2, with a pair of contests. Mizzou faces Heartland Community College at 2 p.m. CT followed by a matchup with Grand View at 4 p.m. CT.
