
@MizzouSoftball Opens 2015 Fall Season With Two Wins

Tigers return to University Field next Friday for second week of fall ball
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball kicked off its 2015 fall schedule Friday evening at University Field and produced a pair of victories. The Tigers claimed a 7-4 win in Game One over Jefferson College and followed up with a 14-0 shutout victory over Central Methodist in Game Two.
Three newcomers sparked Mizzou's offense in Game One, as freshman OF Regan Nash (Platte City, Mo.), freshman IF Chase Nelson (Paragould, Ark.) and freshman C/IF Rylee Pierce (Visalia, Calif.) all finished with multi-hit efforts at the plate.
Nelson had a team-high three RBIs, while senior IF/C Sami Fagan (Dunnellon, Fla.) launched her first home run of the fall and finished with two RBIs.
Head Coach Ehren Earleywine received a pair of strong performances in the circle against Jefferson College, as junior RHP Cheyenne Baxter (Norborne, Mo.) and freshman RHP Danielle Baumgartner (Mexico, Mo.) combined to only allow two earned runs in 7.0 innings of work.
In Game Two, the Tigers offense exploded for 14 runs on 11 hits. Junior UT Natalie Fleming (Silex, Mo.) went a perfect 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs at the plate to lead the Mizzou scoring barrage. Fagan had another strong performance, finishing 2-for-4 with her second home run of the day and 2 RBIs.
Senior OF Taylor Gadbois (Maryville, Mo.), junior C/1B Kirsten Mack (Riverside, Calif.) and junior Chloe Rathburn (Mission Viejo, Calif.) each had multi-hit games to round out the Tigers' offense.
In the circle, junior RHP Tori Finucane (Germantown, Md.) struck out eight over 5.0 shutout innings.

Mizzou continues its fall action Friday, Sept. 25, with a doubleheader against Lakeland Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT and 6 p.m. at University Field.
